The Bulldogs team is spilt into two sections.
For those that want to box competitively our boxing team is made up of volunteer WABA qualified Boxing Coaches. Port Talbot Boxing Club known as The Bulldogs was formed in 2008
Our Community team is made up within the Bulldogs Boxing & Community Activities Registered Charity which was formed in April 2014. The team is responsible for funding and activities delivering The Bulldogs 5 Pillar Programme.
Founder & Head Coach
Mike is one of the head coaches at The Bulldogs and is a founder member of the Boxing Club. He was a keen sportsman who has developed into a respected coach on the amateur circuit.
Head Boxing Coach
Stuart is a former Celtic Welterweight professional boxing champion. He has honed these skills into a top coach and is a no nonsense disciplinarian in the gym who leads by example. He passes down his experiences to our young members and is still a very active sparring partner for many of our boxers..
Simon is a boxing coach and also deals with all the secretarial work of the boxing club. He has been a part of the club since the very beginning and gives many hours of his time.
Simon is also a SSAFA caseworker and is the first point of contact for Armed Forces Veterans at The Bulldogs
Business Development Manager
Mal has extensive experience in community work and is the main source of funding income. He has managed a number of projects working within Port Talbot and has brought this knowledge together to help create the Bulldogs Partnership.
Bulldogs 5 Pillar Coordinator
Sam is our lead person on the employability and education Pillars, she has a vast amount of experience in the employability field and has substantial success in getting people into employment
Gums as everyone knows him is an experienced qualified fitness instructor who is still extremely fit even now in his mid forties. He interacts superbly with many disadvantaged young people and is a been there done that member of the team.
